Do I Let Go?
One time I said, “I used to hang on to roses given to me. I would dry
them and keep them. I now realize the moment I held the roses was the
moment to cherish and embrace. While I lingered over dried roses, I
missed other precious moments. Embrace each moment and be grateful” Each moment
has "from God" written into it.
Meditation certainly is an excellent way to bring me into the here and now. But that can be much more than being in the silence and breathing. It can be knitting, washing a dish ( when the dishwasher breaks!), digging in the dirt, feeling the sweet kiss of a little one, or yes, listening with my 15-year-old grandson to “Metal Music.”
Each moment reveals and rewards if we only pay attention and accept. But, sometimes, we must let go of something
to allow that moment to be.
I
have found that by striving to bring me into a present moment, my
creativity soars. The poem I share is a result of that meditation. It isn’t one of the best, but sometimes the best
is what comes from the heart. Not
everything has to be perfect and award-winning to make a difference in someone
it touches. When I share a poem, I release some parts of me to receive more and
give more.
I
Let Go, I Recieve
My
meditation sometimes
brings
me to
listening
to new words,
seeing
a new light,
and feeling more love.
As
I breathe and write,
the moment captures my heart,
and I embrace the surrender of the old.
Letting
go,
just
as the leaves of Autumn.
Floating
down, flying away, and
resting
in the final moment.
Free
and at peace.
