Surrender
I have had 24 hours to absorb the news about my brother. He has stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung with metastasis to the brain. It's the same cancer Charles had, just different places. I have come on a long and sometimes difficult journey since Charles, and in some ways his passing has prepared me for this new part of my journey. This poem was inspired after much prayer.
Surrendering
I surrender
The pain and sadness.
I surrender
The need to “fix
it”.
I surrender.
I open my heart.
I feel the
presence.
I know the
Christ
Within.
I am grateful.
I am at peace.

I was going to write - but now we know for sure. I am glad the joy of the creative spirit helps you to process this most difficult mountain in your heart.
