Freeing the Past

A Personal Kind of Freedom

When I began writing I had forgotten that today was the commemoration of Martin Luther King's birthday.  The theme of freedom (for me) began last week when I decided to "fill in the blanks" of my "Life Story" that I have been working on since September in my Memories Class.  This specific dedication came from the struggle I had with the last assignment because of the memories I did not like visiting.  I learned that as each word was written, I gained freedom and faith.  Thus, began my desire to continue and bring substance to my story by not leaving anything out and continuing my journey with this new found freedom.  Thank you Mary Anne Harris for your enlightenment.

Freedom
Freeing my spirit
From the worn out emotions
Of the life gone forever.
Visiting the past and
Cleansing my heart
Allows light and hope into
A new life, the present life.
Filled with trust and faith.
