Remembering: Past and Present

Older poetry:

Ending of a Cycle

You are my partner in waking and sleeping….

All consuming to the inner portion of me,

Traveling, resting, never leaving.

My only salvation comes from looking deep within.

Calling upon my being not seen or heard.

Calm transcending that partner…

You have no friend, only a host

I become one, telling you I have better to do,

Not struggling…

With struggle comes a better hold…

The cycle begins again.

My choice---

Go within and rise above,

Ending the pain.

Kindred
Time and distance are the foes.
Keeping family as strangers, no one ever really knows.
Still, the loving and the sharing,
Must go on….
To preserve that ancient claim.
Our passion to belong.

Forfeited Love
Love lost, yet, never found.
Discarded after passion’s flare,
For nobler things….
To meet once more,
Our hearts will know.
Eyes will meet, and we will speak,
Without a sound.

 Remembering Heart
My heart feels empty
And yet bursting open.
Over flowing and heavy.
Spilling over with sadness.
I can barely breath
Because of the gripping and dull pain.
It requires tears…
Lots of tears
And sometimes a screaming of disbelief.
My mind and body limp and exhausted.
Can rest and maybe dream…
Until the next time
I remember.
